I purchased it for work and it takes excellent quality videos for those "ooh ooh I wish I had a video camera" moments. It's powerful and compact and I can tuck it away in my purse. Today, I snagged this video of some deer that were frolicking in my back yard. It's great...even at night. We just replaced our Flip video camera with the Kodak Zi8. I haven't used it much yet, but boy can we tell the difference! I am so pleased with this video camera. The picture is clear and sound is good. This was a great price to get the accessory kit with it as well. Now we have an extra battery, sim card, remote, tripod and case. The entire package is a great deal especially since I got it for $130.00 a week ago. Everything exceeded my expectations except for the fact it stores the videos in .mov format. Nothing works with this for converting to DVD that most people would have. Expensive updates for software could do this but I'm not sure if they would affect quality too. I found a reasonable priced program to convert the .mov to .avi. That is easily converted to DVD. The clarity deteriorates some and the colors get washed out some too.The best way to see these is to look at the videos on a computer in the original format. I'm no expert at this so there may be a better way to make a DVD and not lose quality. The camera is fantastic at 720p-60 frames and I hate to see it lost.
